Welding blanket – A thermal welding rug is a rug that is impervious to sparks and flames. It has the ability to protect the adjacent elements to be showered with sparks and slag during the welding process. Most welding blankets will be stable up to 1000 degree range, give or take a few degrees. Advanced models can be effective all the way up to 148 degrees C. These rugs are made of special materials that are flame, sparks and slag agent.
Welding blanket in a garage or other area that may have oil or gasoline on the floor is very dangerous because welding sparks and molten steel can ignite these substances. Placing a welding blanket under the area where the work will be done greatly reduces the risk of fire.
